Saturday's Vote to Approve Public Option, but deny Reproductive Rights

We can't win for losing. At present, the dark side of Democrats and all but one Republican have voted for a Public Option that helps everyone but women who are pregnant or may someday be pregnant. B/c in the bill that passed the House if you need or want an abortion, you can't get one with federal dollars. It's the Stupak-Pitts Amendment. Stupid - pits- a men dement.
A federal law deems abortion legal. It aims to keep it safe and legal. However, in this bill, passed by the House, neither you or your insurance company can receive federal money if they provide abortion services. How many providers in WA State provide abortion services? All of them. Therefore current providers wouldn't/couldn't receive federal assistance if they continued dispensing RU486 pills or abortion services. What would this mean for American women?
Discrimination against women is a bad indicator for a country. Mom, apple pie and back alley abortions. As a society blossoms and progresses, women gain more freedom. I can't tell what this indicates, a temporary backlash b/c women are losing less jobs than men are, or a trend towards control and domination of females. I am leaning towards the latter. Sure "The Family" hates freedom for women, but so do many women in the born again Christian faith. The Stockholm Syndrome as applied to many women in these mushrooming churches enlists them to be complicit in their own bondage.
As for American society: It is one thing to come out of the darkness, into the light. It's another thing to being in that light and choose the darkness.
